Overview
If you've forgotten your cPanel password or want to change it for security reasons, there are two safe and simple ways to update it: through the ArchGriffin Client Portal or directly inside cPanel (if you're already logged in).
Option 1: Change Your cPanel Password via the Client Portal
This is the easiest and most secure way to update your cPanel password, especially if you're unable to log in directly.
- Log into your client area at https://portal.archgriffin.com.
- Click on Services in the top menu.
- Select your hosting package from the list.
- Click the "Change Password" button in the cPanel Details section.
- Enter a new strong password, or use the Generate Password button.
- Click Save Changes.
This will immediately update your cPanel password. You can now log in using your new password at https://yourdomain.com/cpanel.
Option 2: Change Password Inside cPanel
If you're already logged into cPanel and want to change your own password:
- Click your username (top-right corner) and choose Password & Security.
- Enter your current password and your new password twice.
- Click Change your password now.
Once done, you’ll be logged out and will need to log back in with your new password.
Security Tips
- Use a mix of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols in your password.
- Avoid using easily guessable words like your name or company name.
- Never share your cPanel password with others — create separate FTP or email users if needed.
- Consider using a password manager like Bitwarden or 1Password for secure storage.
Forgot Your Current Password?
If you're locked out and can't remember your cPanel password, you can reset it through the client portal:
- Log into https://portal.archgriffin.com.
- Click Services > select your hosting account.
- Use the Change Password function to reset it — no need for the old password.
