Overview
WordPress Toolkit is the easiest and safest way to install WordPress on your hosting account. It’s fully integrated with cPanel and includes automatic updates, plugin/theme management, and Smart Update capabilities for premium plans. This guide walks you through a standard installation using WP Toolkit.
Accessing WordPress Toolkit
- Log into your cPanel account.
- Scroll down to the WordPress Toolkit section.
- Click WordPress Toolkit to launch the dashboard.
Installing WordPress
- Click the Install button.
- Choose your domain or subdomain from the Installation Path dropdown.
- Optional: Specify a directory (e.g.,
blog) or leave it blank to install at the root (yourdomain.com). - Under Site Settings:
- Choose a Site Name and Site Description (you can change this later).
- Set up Administrator Login:
- Choose a username, password, and email address.
- We recommend using a unique username (not "admin") and a secure password.
- Under Language, choose your preferred language for the WordPress dashboard.
- For Automatic Update Settings:
- Enable auto-updates for WordPress core, plugins, and themes (recommended).
- Click Install.
The installation will take a few seconds. Once complete, you’ll see your WordPress site listed on the WP Toolkit dashboard.
Post-Install Options
Once installed, you can manage your WordPress site directly from WP Toolkit:
- Click Log In to access the WordPress Admin Dashboard without entering credentials.
- Use Plugins and Themes to install or remove components with one click.
- Turn on Smart Updates (available on premium plans) to test updates in a safe environment before applying them live.
SSL & HTTPS
If your domain has an SSL certificate (included with all ArchGriffin hosting plans), WP Toolkit will attempt to configure HTTPS automatically. You can manually force HTTPS inside the WordPress dashboard or by using the WP Toolkit's Security settings.
Troubleshooting
- If you receive a permission or directory error, ensure that your domain is correctly added to cPanel and not already in use by another site.
- For staging or subfolder installs, make sure the directory doesn't already contain files.
- If WordPress fails to load after install, clear your browser cache or test the site in an incognito window.
