Overview
Your ArchGriffin hosting plan includes defined limits for disk space, bandwidth, email accounts, RAM, databases, and other resources. This guide explains what happens when those limits are reached, and how we help you resolve it without service disruption.
How ArchGriffin Handles Limits
Unlike many providers, we do not immediately suspend your services when a limit is reached. Instead, we use a soft-limit model for most metrics and notify you when you're approaching or exceeding your plan’s allowances.
Types of Limits and What They Mean
Disk Space
- Soft limit: If you exceed your disk space allocation, your site and email continue to function, but you may receive warnings and incur overage charges (R5/GB as per your hosting plan).
- Hard limit (optional): If manually configured, file uploads or email delivery may fail once physical storage is exhausted.
Bandwidth
- All plans include a soft monthly bandwidth cap.
- If you exceed your monthly allocation, you will receive a notice and may be billed for excess usage.
- We will never throttle or suspend your site without first contacting you.
Email Accounts
- This is a hard limit. Once you reach your email account allowance, you won’t be able to create new mailboxes until you delete unused ones or upgrade your plan.
RAM and CPU (LVE Limits)
- Your site is isolated and allocated specific RAM and CPU through CloudLinux LVE.
- If your site exceeds its allocated RAM or CPU, performance may temporarily degrade (e.g., slower response times or 503 errors).
- These are automatic and self-recovering limits. No data loss occurs, but consistent overuse suggests it’s time to upgrade your plan.
MySQL Databases
- Hosting plans have a maximum number of databases you can create.
- This is a hard limit. If you hit it, you’ll need to upgrade your plan or remove unused databases.
What to Do If You Receive a Limit Warning
- Log into your client area and check resource usage under Services.
- Click on your hosting package to view current disk and bandwidth usage.
- Clean up unneeded files, emails, or logs via File Manager or cPanel tools if applicable.
- Contact us for help reviewing your usage and making recommendations.
Upgrade Options
If your website has grown or your business has expanded, we offer simple upgrade paths to larger hosting plans. You can view and request upgrades from your client area or by contacting support.
